Ring Description
Ring Description
This unique wedding band is made out of tungsten and inlayed with burnt whiskey barrel and meteorite shavings. Separating the whiskey barrel and meteorite are two gold bands to help create a modern yet rustic wedding ring full of history from outer space.
The meteorite ring is created by first crafting the core out of tungsten. Then whiskey barrel wood is cut to size, and it is snapped and glued around the tungsten core. Then a channel is carved out of the whiskey barrel wood and meteorite shavings are inlayed. Next, the gold bands are inlayed around the ring. Lastly, a waterproof resin is applied to protect the ring from everyday wear.
The whiskey barrel ring can also make the perfect gift for anniversary rings or promise rings. The unique meteorite shavings are out of this world (literally) and would make a great gift for someone interested in space!
More Information about the Gibeon Meteorite:
The Gibeon meteorite is one of the most famous meteorites in the world and is named after the town of Gibeon in Namibia where it was discovered. It is believed to have landed on Earth over 4 billion years ago, making it one of the oldest materials known to mankind.
The Gibeon meteorite is composed primarily of iron and nickel, with small amounts of cobalt and phosphorus. It is classified as a fine octahedrite, which means that it has a distinctive crystalline structure with intersecting bands of metal. This structure is the result of the meteorite's slow cooling process as it traveled through space.
One of the unique features of the Gibeon meteorite is its Widmanstätten pattern, which is a distinctive crystalline pattern that can only be seen in meteorites. This pattern is the result of the slow cooling process and is caused by the intergrowth of two different alloys of iron and nickel.
Due to its rarity and unique appearance, Gibeon meteorite is highly sought after by collectors and is often used in jewelry and other decorative items. Its distinctive pattern and connection to outer space make it a fascinating material that captures the imagination of people all over the world.
We now offer both 8mm and 6mm versions! The 8mm width is traditionally seen as a men’s style and the 6mm as a women’s, but they’re perfect for anyone. For reference, 8mm is roughly the width of four stacked nickels, and 6mm is about the width of three.
We now offer 8mm, 6mm and 4mm versions! The 8mm width is traditionally seen as a men’s style, the 6mm as unisex, and the 4mm as female but they’re perfect for anyone. For reference, 8mm is roughly the width of four stacked nickels, 6mm is about the width of three, and 4mm the width of 2 nickels.

Ring Sizing
Find Your GoodRings Size
A properly sized ring should feel comfortable throughout the day, slide over your knuckle with slight resistance, and stay securely in place without feeling tight.
For the most dependable result, we recommend using a physical ring sizer or visiting a jeweler. Confirm your size before ordering engraving or another customized option.
Our Recommended Method: Use a Plastic Ring Sizer
A physical ring sizer lets you try several sizes over multiple days before choosing your ring. This is especially helpful because finger size can change with temperature, activity, hydration, and time of day.
For the best result:
- Wear the sizer on the correct finger.
- Test it at different times of day.
- Make sure it passes over your knuckle with slight resistance.
- Choose a fit that feels secure without pinching or leaving a deep indentation.
- If possible, test a sizer similar in width to the ring you intend to purchase. Wider bands can feel tighter than narrow bands.
- Wear your chosen size for several hours to make sure it remains comfortable and secure.
Why Your Finished Ring May Feel Slightly Different
Our plastic sizers provide an accurate physical size reference, but they are much lighter than a finished metal ring. A tungsten ring’s additional weight can make movement or rotation more noticeable, causing it to feel slightly looser even when it is the same measured size.
These differences do not necessarily mean the ring is the wrong size. Your finished ring should pass over the knuckle with slight resistance and remain comfortably in place during normal wear. Do not automatically order a smaller size solely because you are purchasing tungsten.
If you are between sizes or have a noticeably larger knuckle, contact us with the ring you are considering and the sizes you tested. We’ll help you choose the best fit.
Get Professionally Sized by a Jeweler
A local jeweler can help determine your US ring size using physical sizing rings. Ask to be measured on the same finger on which you will wear your GoodRing.
Tell the jeweler the approximate width of the ring you plan to purchase. Wider bands may require a slightly larger size than narrow bands, and comfort-fit interiors can feel different from traditional flat interiors.
Ask the jeweler to write down:
-
Your US ring size
-
The width of the sizing ring used
-
Whether the sizing ring had a standard or comfort-fit interior
We recommend relying on a physical try-on size instead of converting an approximate finger measurement.
Download Our Printable Ring Sizer
Our printable PDF provides a convenient preliminary estimate when a physical sizer or jeweler is unavailable.
Print the document at 100% or Actual Size—not “Fit to Page”—and verify the printed calibration mark with a ruler before measuring.
Printable tools are more susceptible to printing, cutting, and placement errors. Do not rely on the PDF alone when ordering an engraved or customized ring. Confirm the result with a plastic sizer or professional fitting first.
Measuring a Ring You Already Own
If you have a ring that already fits the intended finger, measure its inside diameter across the widest point of the opening. Do not include the ring’s metal edges.
A ruler can provide a rough estimate, but small differences matter. Digital calipers are more accurate. Compare the measurement with the inside-diameter column in our US ring-size chart.
Make sure the existing ring:
-
Fits the intended finger properly
-
Is reasonably round
-
Has a width similar to the ring you are purchasing
-
Is measured across its true center
GoodRings Size Chart
Use the chart below to compare US ring sizes with the corresponding inside diameter and inside circumference.
The measurements describe the inside of a finished ring, not the width of your finger.
What If I’m Between Sizes?
If you are between two sizes, consider the width of the ring, the size of your knuckle, and whether your fingers tend to swell.
A wider band usually feels tighter than a narrow band. If you are uncertain, contact us before ordering and tell us:
-
The ring you are considering
-
Your measured size or inside diameter
-
The sizing method you used
-
Whether your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger
We’ll help you choose the most appropriate option.

Steven with GoodRingsUSA was wonderful to work with. He helped me get the ring of my fiancé's dreams, and it came on time despite a slight problem with shipping. He always replied very fast and constantly provided updates. I really appreciate such great customer service! I will definitely be ordering more rings from them in the future (anniversary gifts!). Also the ring looks even cooler and more beautiful in person, great quality so far (only time will tell!).
My husband loves it! It's beautiful ❤️
The ring is beautiful, as pictured, and the seller is very responsive and quick with the turnaround time for orders. I measured incorrectly and need to exchange the ring for a different size, but the seller makes that process easy as well. Very happy with my purchase!
This ring is absolutely stunning! We ordered a 10.5. Turns out he needed a 10. The customer service to have it returned and exchanged for the right size was swift and easy. 10/10 recommend!!!!!
